We see the label "biodegradable" or "compostable" and we think "I'm making a better choice". But did you know ( I didn't until recently ) that biodegradable items are designed to be decomposed only with the specific process of composting which does not occur in landfills.So once again the greenest option is the one that’s used over and over again. Reusable coffee mugs, water bottles and real dishware and utensils are environmentally better than their disposable options, even if they could be recycled or composted. Just think of all the energy and resources that go into producing something that only gets used once!🍂🍁🌿 _________________________________________ Виждаме етикета „биоразградим“ или „компостируем“ и си мислим „правя по-добър избор“. Но знаете ли ( аз едва наскоро научих ), че биоразградимите материали се разграждат само чрез специфичния процес на компостиране, който не се случва на депата за отпадъци. Така че за пореден път най-природосъобразният вариант е този, които се използва отново и отново. Многократни чаши за кафе, бутилки за вода, съдове и прибори са екологично по-добри от техните еквиваленти за еднократна употреба, дори ако последните могат да бъдат рециклирани или компостирани.
